Banaras Hindu University is a most popular Central university in North India. It was located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. BHU Established in 1916 by Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya.

BHU is a UGC Recognized, NAAC Approved, and NCTE Recognized University. BHU is one of the largest residential universities in Asia, with over 20,000 students. BHU is ranked First in India Today's India's Top 50 Universities of 2013. BHUniversity has two campuses, 3 institutes, 16 faculties, 140 departments, 4 advanced centers and 4 interdisciplinary schools. BHU Admission 2013-14
The BHU offers Undergraduate Programs, Postgraduate Programs, Special Courses(PG), Research Programs (Ph D) and UG/P.G. Diploma Programs.

Banaras Hindu University conducts national level undergraduate (UET) and postgraduate (PET) entrance tests usually during May–June for admission of various PG and UG courses. Admissions are done according to merit in the entrance tests.

• Admissions to B.Tech./B.Pharm., M.Tech./M.Pharm. are done through JEE and GATE respectively.
• Admission to MBA and MIBA are done through IIM-CAT score.
• Admissions for PhD are done on the basis of either qualification of National Eligibility Test (NET) by the candidates or through the scores of CRET (common research entrance test).
• Admissions in IMS are done through PMT exam.

BHU M Phil, Ph D Admission
Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has invited applications from eligible candidates for 2013-14 admission in Ph. D, M. Phil and integrated Ph. D courses. BHU conducted Research Entrance Test (RET) for the admission of M Phil, Ph d Programme in in various disciplines.

University says that NET (JRF), NET (LS) and GATE qualified candidates shall be eligible for direct admission without appearing in RET.
