Visva Bharati University is one of India's most popular and major Central autonomous University. located in Santiniketan, West Bengal. It was founded by Rabindranath Tagore. Visva Bharati means the communion of the world with India. Visva Bharati Affiliated with UGC, NAAC, AICTE and NCTE.

The University have the 119 Professor, 110 Associate Professor, 29 Reader & Lecturer, 94 Assistant Professo, 137 Assistant Lecturer & Equivalent And 6500 Students. In Visva-Bharati University if a course demanded by a student is not available then the University will design a course and bring teachers for that course.

The VBU Offers Undergraduate, postgraduate, M Phil, Ph D, And Other Diploma Certificate courses. The Uiversity invited applications from the eligible candidate for the admission of various courses. The Central Admission Committee decides upon the admission criteria for the different courses from time to time. Special categories of candidates, such as S.C./S.T., physically handicapped etc. are admitted as per Government of India rules.

Visva Bharati University Ph d, M Phil Admission 2013-14
The VBUniversity announces admission to Research Degree Programmes in various Disciplines for January 2014 Cycle.
Eligibility : A candidate seeking registration in the Research Degree Programmes (MPhil/PhD) must hold a Master’s Degree in the relevant Discipline/Areas or other equivalent qualification. The candidate should have secured at least 55% marks in the Master’s Degree (50% for Reserved Category).
Candidates qualifying in the Entrance Examination will have to appear in an Interview at VBU Headquarters.

Candidates holding Master’s Degree with 55% (50% for Reserved Category) and MPhil/UGC NET/SLET/JEST of DAE/GATE of IIT or equivalent examination or have Professional/Work Experience as prescribed by the Discipline may be exempted from the Entrance Examination.
