Bangalore University is a most famous and Oldest public state university located in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. It was Established on 1886 by the British Government to award University degrees. The university is a part of The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and affiliated by University Grants Commission (UGC)and the university was accredited by NAAC and received Five Star Status.

The Bangalore University gave birth to universities like Visvesvaraya Technological University, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences.

BU has 43 Post Graduate Departments, Three constituent colleges, 665 affiliated colleges and several other Centers and Directorates of higher learning and research under its purview. At present, the University offers 50 Post Graduate Courses and Employment Oriented Diploma and Certificate Courses. The University has launched the Five years Integrated Courses in Biological Sciences, Social Sciences, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences and Business Studies and the Four years B.S. Programme. The University has also established Gandhi Bhavan, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Study and Research Centre, and Centre for Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive policy and also has established schools of Biological Sciences, Social Sciences and Business Studies.

Bangalore University Admission 2013-14
BU Invited applications from the eligible candidates for the admission of  Post-Graduate, Under-Graduate, Integrated Programmes, BS Programmes and Ph D Courses at Jnana Bharathi Campus, Central College Campus, PG Center at Kolar and in affiliated colleges for the academic year 2013-14.

How to apply:

• Application form can be filled online through the official website of Bangalore University. Application Fee of Rs. 400/- (Rs. 200/- for SC/ST/Cat-I) can be paid at 'Bangalore One' in Bangalore or State Bank of Mysore in Ramanagar, Kolar & Chikkaballapur 
• Application form must be submitted through Demand Draft drawn in favor of Finance Officer, Bangalore University, from other places and submit the application hard copy to the below address. 
• If the candidate wishes to submit more than one downloaded application, he/she shall pay extra Rs 100/- per application.
• Separate application should be submitted for each course. The first admission along with prospectus can be obtained from the mentioned Bangalore one centres and the branches of State Bank of Mysore.
• The duly filled in applications, along with necessary documents, should be submitted to the Centralized Admission Cell, Jnanajyothi, Auditorium, Central College campus, Bangalore University, Bangalore-560001 with in the last date

Bangalore University Ph D Admission 2013-14
BU Invited Application for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programme in the prescribed form from the eligible candidates. The candidates who are required to appear for Entrance Test and those who are exempted from taking Entrance Test have to submit their application. 
How to Apply : A candidate should have to download application from website. Filled Application Form along with required enclosures shall be sent online and one copy of the filled Application Form with related documents shall also be sent to the Registrar Campus, Dr. Ambedkar Veedi, Bangalore.
