The University of Mysore is a Oldest and most popular public state university. It was established in 1916 by Maharaja of Mysore, Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV. The University located in Mysore, Karnataka, India.

The University of Mysore was accredited "Grade A" by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and recognition from the University Grants Commission (UGC) And also affiliated with AIU.

The University has 122 affiliated colleges and five constituent colleges. The University has 37 postgraduate departments, 8 specialised research & training centres and 2 postgraduate centres that together offer about 55 regular academic programmes to 3,500 students.University also runs a number of employment-oriented diploma courses and certificate programmes.

Mysore University Admission 2013-14
The MU Offers Graduated, Under graduated, Post Graduated, Research courses and Diploma, Certificate courses. Entrance examination is a mandatory requirement for admission to all PG programmes offered by the University at Manasagangotri, PG Centers at Mandya, Hassan and Chamarajanagar and other affiliated colleges except autonomous colleges.

Instructions to Candidates
  • Application received after the Due Date will not be entertained.
  • Application with incomplete or incorrect information is liable for rejection.
  • The admission tickets of the entrance examination may be collected in person
    from the Coordinator’s office.
  • The entrance examination will be conducted from 17-07-2013 to 23-07-2013.
  • The entrance examination time table will be announced after the last date of
    submission of application.
  • The entrance examination shall be of one hour duration for a maximum of 50
    marks of multiple choice questions. No negative marking.
  • The syllabus and model question paper for the entrance examination may be
    downloaded from the university website.
  • The key answers will be posted on the website as and when the examination/s
    is/are over and objections will be received at Coordinator’s office.
  • The final key answers will be announced on Website
  • The result of the entrance examination will be announced in the
    university website.
  • There shall be no provision for revaluation in respect of Entrance Examination.
  • Fee paid for entrance examination is not refundable.

Mysore University Ph D Admission 2013-14
Applications have been invited from Indian Nationals seeking Provisional Registration for pursuing research work leading to Ph.D degree of the University of Mysore in various disciplines.

Eligibility:
  • Candidates who have secured at least 55% of aggregate marks (50% for SC/ ST/ Cat-1 candidates) or equivalent grade under grading system, in their Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from the recognized Universities/ Institutions.
  • Candidates who are in the final semester and are taking the final examination are also eligible to apply. However, such candidates should furnish successful course completion details at the time of interview(if called for), failing which their applications will be treated as rejected.

The candidates should remit an application fee of Rs 1000/-(Rs.500/- for SC/ ST/ Cat-I candidates) to the State Bank of Mysore, University Campus Branch, Mysore-5, through Bank Challan (Fees and Remuneration account of the Univesity of Mysore) or Demand Draft in favour of the Finance Officer, University of Mysore, Mysore-5, payable at Mysore.

Filled in Applications along with necessary certificates and Bank Challan/ DD and other documents should reach the Director, Office of the Directorate of Research, University of Mysore, Pareeksha Bhavan (Behind Crawford Hall), Mysore -5
